Patrick, Patson arrive at Lille

Zambia national team young-stars Patrick Ngoma and Patson Daka have arrived in France where they will undergo trials at French Ligue 1 side Lille.

The two teenage strikers were met today on arrival in France by former Chipolopolo coach and current Lille assistant coach Patrice Beaumelle and are expected to link up with the Herve Renard coached side in the preseason training.

Zambianfootball.co.zm understands that the Zambian lads will be with Lille for one week.

Daka captained the U17 side at the CAF Junior Championship and has been part of the U20, U23 and senior national teams together with Ngoma.

Ngoma was also part of the senior national team that played at the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

The two formed a deadly partnership at the Africa Union Sports Council (AUSC) Region Five U20 Games in December, 2014 when they scored 11 goals between them in a tournament Zambia minted gold.

FAZ President and football legend Kalusha Bwalya describe the chance accorded to the boys as a great opportunity/

“Great opportunity for the boys. You know Herve knows Zambian mentality and its a plus. I hope the boys take their chance,” Kalusha said.

  1. Corruption at its best total nonsense. Now I know why experienced players are benched so that this patson boy can play and waste our time. Zambia should have beaten bissau 4-0. Corrupt kalu is the reason we dropped points because hour was busy marketing patson to lille.

  2. Senseless comment ba muntu. Instead of wishing the lads good luck you are here busy lamenting about no one knows. Go Go boys, you can make it for mother Zambia ALL the best to Ngoma and Daka

    • And the players the keep crying for flopped at Afcon 2013 with Renard and you expect him to call them to Lille. People Jerry Muchimba has finally released his Godfrey “Ucar” Chitalu book going at K150 per copy which I bought on Sunday and finished reading on Monday because it is very interesting especially that I physically watched most of the games. I would want to buy Dennis Liwewe and Ridegeway Liwena’s books that were stolen from me. You can also get it as an eBook on the Troubador website and on Amazon.

  3. Good luck boys I know H.R will get them both and play them mu reserve for them to gain experience…

  4. I don’t understand John if Kalusha connect them is it bad? Suppose it was your players Fwayo or Kola Kalusha has connected will you still call him corrupt? These boys are young and are Zambians it is good for our football leave them alone.

  5. Good News to them boys thats how it starts BUT problem with ALL the boys who get taken by this Herve and Patrice combo end up being bench-warmers in Europe. Emmanual Mayuka a classic example who I guess has died a natural death in football.

  6. Let these boys go to Europe. However Kalusha should not use the national team as an instrument to practice his corruption and fill his wallet. Our game is finished because of corrupt leaders like him.

  7. they wil not clinch an deal mark my words red!! they wil fail 2 impres renard, french ligue 1 is a tough ligue in europe, only kalaba, fwayo, chisamba & lubambo musanda can play in french ligue 1, renard want goals & gud performance to protect his job, they failed 2 score against minows like guinea bissau, namibia,& malawi then u think they wil score in france, maybe in ligue 2 they can sign a deal.

  8. lile is a big club in french ligue 1 they awalys play eufa & europa & that is not a material 4 eufa or europa. remember they fired their coach becoz of not qualify 4 a eufa spot, only fwayo, kalaba & lubambo can play in eufa or europa ligue.

  9. The greed by club officials is the main reason our boys fail to break into Europe. If there is one area that epitomises how dull ZAmbians are is the failure to learn from West Africans on transfer of young lads. From the under 20 Africa cup squads Nigeria have already sent over 6 boys to European teams for trials. The arrangement is for the club to sign them for a token with their representatives promised a hefty sell-on fee when they do well in Europe and are then sold. Are our officials ready to wait? No! They want to eat right away! I doubt if any club in Europe wud risk to get a youthful player from our league as seen on supersport? Our league is uncomfortable to watch. Let’s wake up and loan the boys out there. You will fill yo tummies after2 Years or so.DEAM BUMS!

  10. All the best lads ,don’t let them seasoned critics dictate her dreams continue developing lads ,trust me the reserve lique is perfect platform for france has one of the best youth football academies in world FACT,to all those seasoned critics wuche patrick na paston ni wahna wako #RB -VOICE. hahaa

  11. Not to be negative, but these boys will be turned into water boys in France, but please prove me wrong and shine there.

  12. I agree with abram these boys are just been used by kalu to make cash. Mayuka is better than patson daka but kalu cannot force him on Renard because he won’t eat anything. Sunzu, Mayuka, kalaba, fwayo and chisamba are the only Zambians that can play for lille. The rest can’t. Renard will just be fired if he assists this corrupt kalu. He should focus on signing seasoned players to save his skin. Patson cannot score any goal in ligue 1.

  13. i have got faith both these boys will fail in france. there is a trend among zambian players not to understand the intricacies of what football is all about. he thinks its about puting food on the table, so once he makes a few dollars or euros he feels he has arived. a zambian player is not selfish, and has no desire to go the extra mile. cristano ronaldo style. so boys go and enjoy yo tourism in france.

  14. If these boys make the grade, it will be good for our soccer. We can debate here all night and day but at the end of the day these boys hold their destiny in their legs.
    Good luck.
