A wave of emotions and pride took over the atmosphere at Nkoloma Stadium yesterday when Atletico Lusaka Football Club triumphed over Nkana Football Club in our Week 6 encounter against the Copperbelt based club.
Francis Bubu Mutalange put us in the lead after converting a penalty in the 35th minute giving us a 1-0 lead until the end of the first half.
Shortly after the beginning of the second half, Charles Zulu attempted to inject hope back into Nkana fans but it was only a matter of time until the Bad Boys asserted dominance and inevitably showed Nkana a special type of football.
In true Atletico Lusaka style, Moses Simpasa found the back of the net in the dying minutes of the game and sealed the win for the Bad Boys, by the 85th minute, it was game over got the elders who travelled from far and jubilation for the home team.
In his post-match interview, Head Coach Brian Kunsanama re echoed that above all else, he wants his team to remain true to the club philosophy and will ensure that they focus and keep working as this is only the beginning of the season.
This hard fought win elevated us to 5th from 12th place with 9 points.We will face Power Dynamos next at Arthur Davies Stadium in Week 7.
