The Football Association has released a list of only six foreign based players who have been summoned for the upcoming Zambia v Egypt game to be played on the 11th of October.
In confirming the friendly match against the Pharaohs of Egypt as reviewed by Zambianfootball.co.zm yesterday, FAZ Communications manager Nkweto Tembwe named the six as in-form Collins Mbesuma, Kennedy Mweene, Stoppila Sunzu, Lubambo Musonda, Rainford Kalaba and Nathan Sinkala.
Lubambo who sustained an injury over the weekend is expected to be back on the field of play by then as his latest review showed that he did not sustain a fracture as earlier feared.
The locally based players will converge in Lusaka on Sunday, October 4, to commence training for the Dubai assignment.
FAZ has also stated that with this friendly, they are keeping an eye on both the October CHAN qualifier against Mozambique (October 17) at Levy Stadium as well as the 11th November World Cup qualifier against Sudan in Khartoum.
The match against Egypt will be played in Dubai.
Which foreign based player would you have loved to see in the friendly against Egypt?

Useless selections…where is Chisamba lungu, mbola,Evans kangwa and katebe? Chicken,we dnt want to see the nclusion of those two young difenders u used.
It seems Chisamba is the fan favorite or is the 2nd best player at moment?
I can see un proffesional, unskilled and un qualified way of selecting players, this is showing the unsuitability of the coach and un concern of faz, surely how dou you leave out the players like chisamba lungu, jacob mulenga, katebe aaron, kabaso chongo, kangwa evans mayuka emmanuel and rodger kola, to me the only local players to consider should be muntali christopher, isaac chansa, malama donashiono and kalengo winstone and the rest should be professionals, please recall the nmentioned players otherwise it is b etter not to have the friendly because it has nothing to do with our players but may mayble a source of income to ……….. You can fill in the blanck
Evans, Mbola and Mayuka.
Jacob Mulenga, Fwayo Tembo, Rodger Kola.
chisamba, kangwa.kangwa is playing well.we would have tried kabaso and mbola to beef up our shaky difence.local coaches are always dull mwe.we want to rely on those two takataka boys at the back u will see the embarrassment.
But why not Chisamba Lungu, Aaron Katebe and probably Mayuka? To me this is just an evil strategy by FAZ not to spend money on air-tickets on certain players.
Players like Chisamba Lungu, Aaron Katebe, Mayuka, Kabaso Chongo, Mbola and Kangwa should have been included.
Those two boys at full backs will embarrass us. I see FAZ’s hand in the selection of players once again. This is a FIFA sanctioned friendly and we needed to make sure that all performing players are available. My thinking is that this is not the complete squad. More will be called.
I knew Kabaso won’t be called because Fighton Simukonda is determined to have his U23 players exposed at a higher level in readiness for the tornament in Senegal. I guess the list of local players will include players like Boyd Mkandawire, Benedict Chepeshi, Jack Chirwa, Patson Daka, Benson Sakala, Kayawe Kapota, Shadreck Malambo, Paul Katema, Friday Samu, Solomon Sakala, Toaster Nsabata, Julius Situmbeko
Even better, thats what friendlies are for, to give chance to play and also an insight to the coaches. Yjank you!
no chisamba! why?
how can u leave a player who is enjoying game time? there is something wrong happening here.
We need an expariet coach coz expatrate coach he would not arrow that to protect his job to leave a player who can give him gud results.
We wil be beaten by the pharaos and we wil continue droping on the fifa rankings.pathetic faz.
even if u have leave chisambadinho but the fc ural captain wil continue raise the zambian flag up. go! chisambadunho go! go! fc ural go! we are chesing 4 uefa spot.
The FAZ announced the players to play against Egypt and not the coach I understand who chooses the players
That didn’t cross mind, Wow! Written on the walls, they kept using Dude until they got a cut and now Arrows , Faz, and Dude’s club are in dead lock yaba ! Again and again, someone from here will defend faz as usual . Hahahahahahaha ! I can’t find the word Coach but only this and I quote ” The Football Association has released a list of only six foreign based players who have been summoned for the upcoming Zambia v Egypt game to be played on the 11th of October.FAZ Communications manager Nkweto Tembwe named the six as in-form Collins Mbesuma, Kennedy Mweene, Stoppila Sunzu, Lubambo Musonda, Rainford Kalaba and Nathan Sinkala. The question is , FAZ are you still refusing that you select players at the expense of Tax payers money?”
Hahahaha yaba!!!! imwe sure the coach is employed by who? The employers of the coach has a PR who does the talking the talking the coach only releases the names he wants to the FA and the rest will be done on his behalf. Its very sad when people has no understanding of anything but yet busy trying to act wanna know it all
Cheers! Their are lot of buffoons on this site acting like they know it all.
Of course that is not to say the list is exhaustive. For pros i feel the FA should have given a reason as to why they have opted for six pros when we are facing a formidable opponent and our team is yet to stabilise
When did we get drawn against Sudan for world cup qualifiers?
too much jerous in zambianfootball, but fc the fc ural wil continue captain the whites men in russia
you wil see how hosam gary and zacharia momem how they wil shine in midfeld. wishng the egyptians all the best to proof my words.
these clowns at faz must be smoking some prohibted stuff, why not just go for a very strong zambia side which in some way will help to attract more high profile friendlies should we beat or draw egpty.
I feel this game should have been used to assess players like Kola,Jacob and Kangwa.the coach should try the combination of mbola and Kabaso as left and right backs,Sunzu and katebe or Muntali as centre back.Kapumbu and Lawrence Chungu for kabaso and Mbola.chaila, kasonde and Sinkala as defensive midfielders these are the two areas we should try to work on as for now.
I agree with you totally.
stil russian premier ligue 49 Minutes played Rostov 1-1 Kuban Krasnodar
stil enjoying russian premier ligue 49 Minutes played Rostov 1-1 Kuban Krasnodar
I would like to see Mayuka, Chisamba, Jacob Mulenga, Kola, we all understand friendly games are meet to see good combination if it could work for players like Kola ,Mayuka and our midfield is not stable.
wether u like it or not chisambadinho wil play in uefa champions ligue next season.
why fax selecting players¬ the coach?only six professional players called? I think we are kidding.Egyptian’s are very dangerous, they will whitewash us seriously. what is happening to our football? why not try other professional players who are performing in their clubs.Don’t depend too much in local players, our local players can’t much the locals of Egypt

This is a good strategy, the six pros are a guide for the young local in each dept, Mbesuma will lead the striking force with upcoming Kelengo,Lubambo and others, defense shall be under sunzu and the young locals, mid field shall de monitored by kalaba mixed with the locals ,stop realing on single professional without local upcoming-its dangerous.these are good ideas.
Mayuka chisamba, jacob name them are already mature for the call ups and games, what is rquired is have more local national team reserve players including keepers, dont depend on only professionals 80% must be local players this is the time to prepare new players for real national duty when needed in future from local reserves.
I agree with your point of preparing new local players, but that must not come at the expense of what we already have. The pros we have today worked hard to be where they are and they deserve some recognition.
chisamba lungu, mbola
Let them pick whoever they wnt 2 pick as long as mbesuma and Kalengo r thr. Who cares its jst a friendly anyway.
You don’t know what you are talking about and I can assure you that you don’t know the difference betwqeen good and bad. Your name should unsta le man
This is a friendly match where teams are allowed to make six substitutions. At the moment, we know that Mbesuma and Kalaba are game for the matches against Sudan later on. I cannot understand why we can’t use this friendly to usher Kola, Mayuka, Kangwa and arguably Fwayo back into the team. To arrange a friendly against a team like Egypt is highly commendable, but to fail to utilize the occasion to assess players that are clearly national team material is regrettable.
Very well said @Paddy. This is my point as well.
We needed a strong defense against Egypt. Those two boys will be exposed and they will surely embarrass us! We needed Mbola, Kabaso and Katebe in that defense. I’m sure this chicken George has be instructed otherwise by Kalu! Kalu is seeing a chance to make money by way of marketing the likes of Patson Daka and other Plangaz!
this is nonsense.they should have called up all the players they need to use against sudan poor thinking. they want to market those school boys. this is very disturbing.that attack led by mbesuma and kalengo wont work against the fast Egyptians. dont forget mbesuma and kalengo they are old.we need mayuka, kangwa, sate sate, kola and patson daka for 2018.
Fax take this serious some of us has been following Zambian football since early 90s. The game against Egypt call mweene, sunzu, mbola, kabaso, katebe, chisamba, kalaba,Sinkala, lubambo,Mbesuma,KANGWA, and kola. Plus local pros.
Sorry I meant faz
I meant call chisamba, kola,KANGWA, mbola, kabaso to add to the above pros called for Egypt game. Don’t use chipeshi, and mukandawire
mbola, kabaso and chisambadinho shud have been included in this squad.
mbola, kabaso and chisambadinho shud have been included in the squad.
Egypt to win this one..
Don’t push Chicken George into making a stand on the player selection criteria; otherwise Kalu will fire him period. The only avenue left for us, to know why decisions like this are attributed to Chicken, is to interview him. Let’s push for ZNBC TV to host Chicken on a phone-in programme. Typical questions should touch on selection criteria and payment of allowances, e.g. 1. WHY FEATURE DAKA IN THE GUINEA GAME when he lacks game time and much much better strikers are sidelined 2. WHY SIDELINE BETTER DEFENDERS IN THE KENYA GAME and feature below avarage wing backs at a risk of losing the game? 3. Kola, Kangwa, Mbola, Chisamba,Katebe r below 26 yrs; basically young! Why don’t you want to select them? 4. ALLOWANCES have been rumoured to cause friction between players and some senior FAZ officials; wat steps r being taken to DIRECT DEBIT the allowances into the players bank accounts? 5. WHAT STOPS U FROM ASSESSING RODGER Kola? 6. HOW DO U PLAN TO MONITOR THE CURRENT PERFOMANCE OF OVERSEAS BASED PLAYERS. 7. It IS DOUBTFULL WHETHER THE MONITORING SYSTEM is working; how do u explain the selection of players considered non perfomers at their clubs?
Let’s get the reporters GRILL this chappie! After all he is on record that every player deserves to be called up as long as he or she is Zambian!
Well said.
That would be awesome
collins mbesuma, kalaba, kangwa,Mbola, lubambo, jacob mulenga, and FC Ural captain Chisambadinho they are enjong game time every weekend thats why they hav improved. BUT I DONT THE METHOD FAZ USE TO SELECT PLAYERS FOR A NATIONAL TEAM. YABA!!! VERY DISAPPOINTED.
To me stoppila sunzu is off form and I don’t know why faz has selected sunzu and not katebe Aaron if the friendly is to help players for CHAN
I don’t know what we see in those two young wing backs, me i think that left back for Power is far much better than the young man we are using.
collins is on fire. this man just never gives up. big up mbesuma
#viva hh 2016
zambia chipolopolo!
Jack Warner former Fifa v/President has been banned for life from football activities. Shows u this nonsense statement from Kalu that he is answerable to nobody is out of date. Govt can actually institute investigations into the running of faz; especially on the $80,000 payout from the Arab guy. This is the right time to hit their knuckles b4 its too late. No wonder some people in faz became Chola boys of Fifa senior officials.
One US prosecutor described the bribery allegations surrounding senior executives of Fifa as “the World Cup of fraud”.
When one official raised issue with corruption in Associations world wide Jack Warner said: “There r some people here who think they r more pious than others. If you are, open a church friend, our business is our business”! In other words not answerable to anyone. What chick.
