One win in eleven games…Chipolopolo poor form in 2024

The Chipolopolo Boys will start their 2025 AFCON qualification campaign next month with two tricky fixtures.

Zambia will be away to Ivory Coast in Bouake on 6th September before hosting Sierra Leone in Ndola on 10th September.

The ZamFoot Crew now looks back at a disappointing year that 2024 has been for the Chipolopolo Boys.

The Chipolopolo have played eleven games in 2024 but unfortunately they have only managed to win one game.

The only game Zambia have won in 2024 is an international friendly match against Malawi back in March, 2-1 thanks to goals from Patson Daka and Clatous Chota Chama.

The Chipolopolo started the year with a 1-1 draw against Morocco, a warm up to the Africa Cup of Nations.

They then went on to draw two games 1-1 against DR Congo and Tanzania before losing 1-0 to Morocco at the continental showpiece.

Zambia then gave away a two goal lead against Zimbabwe to end up losing on post match penalties. Zambia then beat Malawi 2-1 to record their only win this year.

They went on to lose to Morocco, 2-1 and Tanzania 1-0 in World Cup qualification games.

After that Zambia went on to suffer a humiliating COSAFA Cup outing where they failed to even register a single goal.

Chipolopolo scored eight goals while conceding 15 and have failed to keep a single clean sheet.
