Zesco United football club has confirmed the acquisition of winger Lazarus Phiri from Green Eagles as he becomes the second player to officially join the Ndola based outfit this transfer window.
Phiri spent last season on loan at Kansanshi Dynamos were he was a menace to a lot of defenders in the league. Phiri has penned a one-year loan deal.
“ZESCO United Football Club is delighted to confirm the arrival of Lazarus Phiri from Green Eagles. The former Kansanshi Dynamos winger has signed a one-year loan contract subject to completing medicals.”
The speedy winger says it a rare opportunity to play for a big club like Zesco and he wants to prove he’s worthy.
“It is rare that one gets such an opportunity to play for a big club like ZESCO United. This is an important moment for me to prove that I am worth playing for this club. My focus now is to work hard and help the team win trophies.”
Phiri joins former Red Arrows skipper Bruce Musakanya at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium as the eight-time Super League Champions continue building their new squad with the aim of bouncing back after missing out on Continental football.
