The 2020/2021 MTN/FAZ Super League season is set to start on 17th October and teams are busy in the transfer market acquiring players they need for the new season.
Zesco United failed to make it into the top four for the first time in nine years and the Ndola based outfit are determined to change that as they are busy on the market looking to reinforce their squad.
Last week, ZESCO United Football Club, Chief Executive Officer, Richard Mulenga confirmed that the club was seriously reinforcing the squad.
“We recognize that our team needs renewal, so we are busy speaking to other clubs in Zambia and one or two outside the country. In fact, I can say that we have closed three deals currently but we are still working on another two or three. The club will be unveiling our new signings in the coming days and weeks,” Mulenga disclosed to the club’s official website.
Zega Mambo has since confirmed the acquisition of wingers Bruce Musakanya on a two-year loan deal and Lazarus Phiri on a one-year loan deal from Red Arrows and Green Eagles respectively.
Apart from the two Zesco have also promoted 18-year-old striker Emmerson Kabwe, 26-year-old defender Gilbert Tembo, 18-year-old attacking midfielder Thomas Mubita, Willard Nkausu, Victor Chanda, and Mutale Sangwani.
The eight Super League Champions are also rumored to be interested in signing Nkana midfielder Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba but the deal is far from being a reality.
Nkana on the other hand has reportedly reached an agreement with TP Mazembe over winger Ramadhan Singono who is expected to join the Wusakile based outfit on loan.
Lumwana Radiants who in July confirmed the acquisition of winger Julius Situmbeko and defender Patient Ikamba have also added Alain Katembwe to their squad after penning a two-year deal.
CAF Confederation Cup-bound Napsa Stars have also snapped up Kenyan talisman Timothy Otieno from Tusker FC. The club is yet to make an official announcement but the ZamFoot Crew understands it is a done deal and they will announce soon.
Lusaka Dynamos are believed to have signed Danny Munyau on a two-year deal after he was released from Red Arrows. The Elite side is also rumored to be close to signing Alex Ng’onga. The ZamFoot Crew understands that the deal is almost done.
Another player linked with a move to Lusaka Dynamos is AS Vita player Tadi Etekiama.
Power Dynamos are believed to have let go of Zimbabwean defender Jimmy Dzingai. The ZamFoot Crew understands that the Bankers, Sensational Zanaco are interested in his services.
Zanaco is busy in the transfer market having lost winger Charles Zulu who has signed for the PSL side, Cape Town City.
The ZamFoot Crew can reveal that Abayellow has invited youngster Joseph Musonda from lower-tier side Fringila for trials.
Eden University/FAZ national Division One top goalscorer Albert Kangwanda is expected to join Super League side Sensational Zanaco on a one-year loan deal.
Kangwanda will become the second player to leave Kafue Celtic after Francisco Mwepu who joined the Austrian Bundesliga league side SK Sturm Graz.
Defender Billy Mutale believed to be closing in on a move to the Magnificent People’s tea, Kabwe Warriors while Gift Wamundila has been recalled by his parent club, Green Buffaloes.
Red Arrows have confirmed that striker James Chamanga and defender Elvis Bissong have extended their contracts with the Airmen.
