Chipolopolo Boys coach Wedson Nyirenda has named his final squad for Cosafa Cup.
Zambia face Botswana in the quarter finals this weekend.
South African based winger Rodrick Kabwe hasn’t made the squad while the likes of Clatus Chama, Fwayo Tembo, Sate Sate and Stanley Nshimbi were not called to camp.

I have a bitter sweet feeling about this in that one part of me wants us to do well in this cup but on the other hand if we don’t do well this could be a chance for plot one to see that we need a serious coach and not block FAZ plans to get a serious coach.
This cup is not as serious as the ones coming up, Afcon and world cup, so the quicker the powers that be realize we need a better coach the better.

A coach who’s not planning to win cosafa should be fired. useless coach. He seems all over the place clueless. Choosing fwayo in anfcon qualifier and dropping him in cosafa

I stand to be corrected but was it not Kamanga and his executive that went all out to get an expatriate coach? and at the last minute were told it was not necessary?

Nyirenda is an okay coach but somehow I believe he is not a good fit for this job. His questionable team selection and shots he took at previous coaches is his biggest undoing. He was given the keys to the castle after many years of many people thinking he was being unfairly sidelined but now we see that maybe those who passed him up knew the reason why
Sense!!!! He was highly critical of other coaches, and I recall him saying that he could do an amazing job with Zambia “even win/go to the world cup.” I honestly thought he was the most successful local coach and would be able to do a tremendous job, but he is clearly not ready. Zambia needs someone who is ready.
Iyi nchito naikulisha for ba wada. Maybe Dan Kabwe ? we defintely need to get a highly qualified coach. Poach that spanish guy coaching at buildcon. How come others easily get such high qualifications eg Benni Mcarthy now has a uefa pro licence, same qualification that the buildcon coach has.

Here is where we have to think like leaders. Had Kamanga and FAZ been allowed to hire Ingesund and he failed miserably; then FAZ is solely culpable and responsible for doing a terrible job with regards to the Senior National team.
Now, since Kamanga and FAZ were not allowed to hire a coach, per direction from the President and GRZ; then they at this time should own up to Wedson’s inability to even win a single competitive game.
At the end of the day, how can you sit here and blame Kamanga and start talking about Ingesund when he was never afforded the opportunity to coach Zambia.
On top of all this. Government is now shouting about how Zambia should not lose to Mozambique again or how badly the team is doing like they somehow were not part of the problem i.e. allowing FAZ to do what is best football. The President has no business making decisions on who should coach the national team, next he’ll be requesting that the U-20 coach take over. We were against Rupiah Banda bringing in Bonetti, but at least Bonetti did a tremendous job with Zambia.

this team cannot win not even a single team in cosafa. just wait. unless if he had called fwayo,sautu,clatus chama and sate sate. coach should be fired after cosafa. let Chriss katongo be the assistant coach of an expatriate coach.
hmm maybe the root cause for this problem of the senior team failing to deliver is the president cause i remember it was once said that the government has no money to hire an Expatriate coach, and this means that kamanga is not to blame because for him to fulfill his promises government support is needed I blame our coach for one thing because he speaks negative how can a coach say qualifying for the World Cup is not him he forget that there’s power in what you say honest speaking I never saw a brighter future for our national senior team in this coach let cosafa be the last tourney for him ba faz, i’ll leave it here.
