Junior Chipolopolo coach, Numba Mumamba, said he is not worried by Malawi’s invincible record at the 2017 U-17 Cosafa Castle Cup in Mauritius.
Numba was speaking ahead of the Zambia U-17 semifinal clash with their Malawi counterparts tomorrow.
The Young Flames have neither lost a match nor conceded a goal at the ongoing regional age tournament.
“I don’t think that will worry us, I think we have strikers who can penetrate and get the goals for us in this game.
“We just have to encourage our boys to work hard so that they give us their best to get us the results to take the team to the final,” he said.
The gaffer has further said his team is free from any injuries and that all the players in the squad are available for selection.
Zambia play their Eastern neighbors in the first semi final of the 2017 tournament that will kick off at 1030hrs.
The young guns secured a place in the knockout stage with a game to spare when they whitewashed Madagascar 7-1 before they beat South Africa 3-2.
Numba then made nine changes for the game against Mozambique in the final group game which saw Zambia lose by a goal to nil.
I am failing to understand how South Africa topped the group while they were wired by Zambia who happen to also have the best goal difference in the group.
Exactly, mate. They say it’s based on head- to-head basis. How?
Hope we make to the final
