Kabwe Warriors head coach Numba Mumamba described the team’s win over Green Buffaloes as an excellent performance.
The magnificent People’s team thrashed the Zambia army sponsored outfit 3-0 thanks to a brace from Mwamba Mutombo and a goal from Ocean Mushure.
Numba believes his side deserved to win the game because they controlled the game from the first minute up to the end.
“An excellent performance from the team. From the word go we dominated the proceedings, we controlled the game. I think the team is improving in each game that we are playing. We deserved to win this game because we were on top of things from the beginning,” he said.
“I think we should not relent, we just have to be focused, keep on working hard then we will be winning games. Our job is to encourage the players and make sure that we don’t get complacent in the coming games.”
Numba has maintained that the team are targeting finishing in top six at the end of the first half of the season.
“Our objective in the first round is to make sure that we finish in the top five bracket so that we play in the ABSA Cup and the team has shown that commitment and we just have to continue encouraging them so that we play in the ABSA Cup,” he said.
Meanwhile, Green Buffaloes Head Coach Masauso Tembo says Kabwe Warriors were the better side on the day.
“Congratulations to Kabwe Warriors, we have lost and we go back to work looking forward to the next game against Zanaco on Wednesday.
“Very good game (from Kabwe Warriors), entertaining. They are playing very well. Wishing them all the best in their next game but us we go back to the drawing board we keep pushing. I think from this game we have learnt one or two things.”
