Numba eyes positive result against Morocco

Zambia B head coach Numba Mumamba says the team will approach today’s international friendly game against Morocco with the seriousness it deserves.

Numba says the team wants to get a positive result to motivate them as they continue to prepare for the 2023 COSAFA Tournament.

The ZESCO United gaffer has also revealed that he will make changes to the team that started against Kuwait.

“We are approaching this game with the seriousness it deserves. It is important to us because we are looking at preparing for the COSAFA tournament. We need to work hard so that we get a positive result that will motivate us as we continue preparing for COSAFA,” Numba said.

“We will definitely make some adjustments to the line up that started against Kuwait so that we see how the Young Boys will perform in this game against Morocco.”

The main Chipolopolo Boys side qualified to the Africa Cup of Nations after thrashing Ivory Coast and Numba believes it will motivate his side to work hard.

The team has a clean bill of health with all the players up for selection and declared ready for the match against the North African side.

“It’s a good motivation to the players and the technical bench especially that it has been long overdue we have not been going to the AFCON for quite some time. It’s a big morale booster. For the players we have it’s an opportunity to shine and maybe one or two players can be picked to go and play in the main team as they prepare for AFCON,” he said.

“There are no Injuries in the team, everyone is okay and ready for selection.”

The Chipolopolo v Morocco match will take place on Monday at the Complexe Sportif at 21h00 Central African Time.

The COSAFA bound team suffered a 3-0 loss to Kuwait on Monday in the first of their two international friendly matches on their North African tour.

The COSAFA Cup will be hosted in the South African coastal city of Durban from July 5-16.

Zambia will kick off their title defence against Malawi on 6th July at the King Zwelithini Stadium.

Zambia’s second Group B match will be against Comoros on 9th July at the same venue before concluding their matches against Seychelles on July 11th at the Princess Magogo Stadium.
