Chipolopolo Boys coach Avram Grant has lauded FAZ President Andrew Kamanga for camping the team in South Africa.
Speaking following Zambia’s 3-0 victory over Ivory Coast to secure a ticket at next’s African Cup of Nations, Grant said the camp helped his team ‘fully focus on the job.’

There were concerns from a section of the Zambian media that it was a waste of tax payers resources.
“Our camp in South Africa was a well thought out idea that was fully supported by FAZ through the president, Mr Andrew Kamanga,” the former Chelsea and West Ham manager said
“It helped our team fully focus on the job at hand with minor distractions.

27 players set base in Johannesburg for a retreat like camp for 8 days in the initial phase of the preparations.
With five days to go before Saturday’s tie, the team shifted base to Ndola for the final phase.
Following qualification to AFCON after an 8 year absence, the government gave each player $10,000 as bonus.
