The Football Association of Zambia (FAZ) Division one northern enters week 13 with several mouth-watering encounters, the league table is shaping up, the big boys continue to dominate.
We now take a look at what is in store for us this weekend.
1.MPOROKOSO FLYING EAGLES VS MALALO POLICE
The “police derby” comes alive as Police sponsored outfits crash in mporokoso on Sunday.
Malalo Police are unbeaten after 4 games and they hope to continue with the same momentum when they travel to Mporokoso to face their ‘Young brothers’, Mporokoso Flying Eagles.
Mporokoso Flying Eagles are without a win in 2 games and last weekend were defeated in Mpulungu however Eagles tend to rise to the occasion whenever they face malalo.
Will they slow down their seniors as they have done in the past? well, only 90+ minutes of football will tell.
2 ST.LUKE VS TAZARA BLUE STARS
Sixth-placed St Luke host seventh-placed Tazara in a match expected to provide fireworks. The only goal difference separates the two teams who both have 8 points.
St Luke is coming from a walkover win last weekend and will hope to build on that. Tazara on the other hand beat Lwansase last weekend and both teams are high on morale.
3.KASAMA UNITED VS MPOROKOSO UNITED
The “Twababonse boys” are third on the table with 9 points and they are coming from a sweet victory against Mpaji last weekend.
Mporokoso United is coming from a draw against Zesco at home but they have proved to be a very good side on the road.
Will, they collect the maximum points in Kasama? Well, let’s wait and see. This is our game of the weekend.
4.CHINTELELWE VS MPAJI
If you watched Chintelelwe in pre-season you will not believe that they are 14th on the table with only 2 points.
Coming from a draw away in Mbala against Ndeke they hope to pick up from there when they host another off-form Mpaji who have also been disappointing so far.
After losing last weekend they need to up their game this weekend but this game won’t be easy.
5.LWANSASE VS MPULUNGU UNITED
Lwansase is a good side but they need to start scoring and what better way to do that than a home date with Mpulungu United.
Coming from a loss against Tazara they host an inform Mpulungu United who is quite dominant both home and away. Sitting in 15th place on the table this will be a huge task for Lwansase, playing against second-placed United.
6.MPANDE VS NDEKE
It will be a rough weekend for the mighty Mpande FC as they host Zambia air force sponsored outfit Ndeke FC in their week 13 encounter at Ituna Secondary school ground.
Of late, Mpande FC hasn’t been in a good form and they are drowning deep in the waters of the relegation zone.
Having suffered three losses from their last four games with one draw and are second from the bottom with 1 point, while Ndeke FC has continued their soft run which has benefitted them with two draws, one win and one loss in all the four consecutive games played.
7.KATESHI COFFE BULLETS VS ABERCORN
Last weekend seemed not to be a favored week for Kateshi coffee bullets as they failed to travel to Kasama and were edged out 3-0 by St Luke Fc through a walkover.
This weekend they are hosting Mbala outfit Abercon at Kateshi Coffee main ground. They have played four games, won one, drawn two, and lost one and currently, they are hanging on position 10 while Abercon is hanging on position eighteen and they are still finding ways to claw out of the red zone with only losses in all the games they have played.
8.ZESCO CHIEFS VS MUNGWI
Zesco Chiefs have maintained a good pace and this weekend they are hosting Mungwi Hotspurs at Kasama youth Center Sports complex.
They have played four games won one, drawn one, and lost two while Mungwi Hotspurs is aiming to put up another good shift especially after they managed a 1-0 win over Zam United in a Week 12 encounter.
Mungwi hotspurs have played four games won two and drawn two. Let’s wait and see who will carry the day between the two giants.
9.ZAM VS CHISHIMBA GREEN EAGLES
Zam United FC has been off form of late and they are hoping to bounce back strong as they host Chishimba green eagles at Buseko ground.
Having succumbed to a 1-0 loss in an away encounter, Zam United have played four games
drawn one and lost three while Chishimba green eagles have drawn two, lost one, and won a walkover encounter against Abercorn Breweries.
