No league games this weekend

The Football Association of Zambia FAZ has announced that the Super League games and all other activities organised by the association will not take off this weekend.

According to a statement obtained from FAZ by ZamFoot, the rescheduling of the games has been necessitated to allow for the period of national mourning following the death of Republican President HE Michael Chilufya Sata.

“All super league, division one, two, three, Futsal and indeed any other matches organized under the ambit of the Football Association of Zambia, at provincial and district levels will not take place this weekend,” the statement read.

  1. I ve been following the indian hero league and I must say it is quite a tough league, much tougher than our MTN league by miles. There is a big number of renown players from European big leagues and facilities are just like in Europe and even better than some latin American countries. Kondwani Mtonga is really playing well, Chansa Isaac is a bench warmer. Janza consider calling Kondwani, he has really matured or take time to watch his team.

    • India is pathetic south africa is better. Just because you see old european men and nice pitch with green grass you think it’s a good league. Stop that small time thinking. On another sochaux is doing very well now that pathetic renard has left. They won again yesterday with sunzu playing 90 minues. Sochaux are now only 6 points from the top of the table. I see them going back to Ligue 1. Their new coach is doing well.

  3. Our players should be fighting for big leagues in europe. Not india, china,Thailand, malaysia, kuwait and Tahiti. China and India are the places for people who have achieved a lot in football, as a result they go there to make money and have fun. Not building a football career. TP mazembe is much better.

  4. We are not saying that india is the best but what am saying is, we have players who are plying their trade there who are very good and we should not just ignore them. U like it or not they are already there. Know that Players have to live beyond their playing careers so don’t expect them to be at Nkana whole their lives! Know that these boys have little choice of where they end up playing. If they had a choice they would all end up in EPL.

  5. @john, very wel said. the indian league is pathetic. its a retirement home. anyone one playing there musnt and cant play for their national team. let us not start taking pride in simple things. i would rather our players are in france or turkey even if its second teir.

  6. If u know how to take players to big European leagues take them there instead just being armchair critics! U think these boys don’t want to be in Europe!- TYPICAL ZAMBIANS

  7. Rumor has it caf is about to postpone afcon after morocco’s request. CAF is a very useless organisation how on earth was a civilized country with a white interim president blocked from hosting afcon. The fact that Zambia has a white interim president shows you Zambia is one of the most democratic and non racial countries in africa. Why then did CAF give righst to ebola infested regions like ivory coast and guinea. This is a corrupt and useless organisation. Zambia would have hosted a powerful afcon. –

  8. Bakafusha on this one you are wrong !!! President Sata was a simple man who had the heart for the common man like me ! How ? He laughed at Mwanawasa and Mazoka,Thats a valid point but I dont think Mr President (remember his remainings are not yet barried,to me is still the president and all security wings are aware) laughed at them. President Mwanawasa was a good leader who listened to other pipo and I cant compare the two diferent individuals. On Mazoka I liked him very much infact I gave him a vote when he was swiddled by chief swiddler who some of us well know. Mr President had his own wicknesses like everyone of us, the biggest point here ba Kafusha wesu is that he said ;my funeral has to be as simple as possible. In case you dont know ,there will be no taking of the body for Mr President to all ten provinces and waste tax payers money like we witnessed some six years ago. The body of Mr President will lie at Mulungushi conference center in Lusaka up to tuesday 11 November 2014 for body viewing starting tomorrow . Those who wish to pay there last respect should provide there money for transport and accomodation the funeral is simple. Indeed he was a simple man, he loved the poor! Bakafusha I need an apology please, this man was a hero to me and many well meaning Zambians and am very suprized that big man like you that I should look to can proudly utter those words. Ba Kafusha wesu the respect I have for u all along is the same respect still have for you. May the souls of President Mwanawasa and UPND President Mazoka rest in enternal peace. President Sata Zambia Mourns MYSREP

  9. Lubambo Musonda has been recalled for national duties and the coach has futher extended his strong arm and axed Jacob Mulenga . Bazamfoot dig deeper please we need this news

  10. I think anyone who watched jacob against cape verde can see his a slow striker. I dont think he should be thrown away but a place on the bench will do for him. Zambia’s best strikers are Mayuka, sate sate and evans kangwa.

  11. Guy has scored 5 goals in the last 6 national team games he started.
And he scored again today for his club after scoring last week. We in zambia have no striker close to that strike rate. For me guy has developed strikers killer instincts and its the system thats not for him. But its good the boy doesnt talk or contest. He just goes and scores week in week out. Listen to comments from whole turkey and you will know this boy is serious.

  12. Evans Kangwa scored twice in the Israeli Premier league for Hapoel R’anana 1-2 away win against Moadon Sport Ashdod. In the Turkish second tier league Jacob Mulenga’s 28th minute goal was not enough to help his team Adana Demirspor in a 2-1 loss away from home against ten man Elazigpor. In Switzerland, it is also currently half time in the Grasshopper vs Basel game.Nathan Sinkala is on the bench and the are 1-0 down.
