Defending Champions Senegal bowed out of the CAF 2023 African Cup of Nations on Monday following a round of 16 defeat to host Ivory Coast.
Senegal were the bookmakers favourites to defend the title, a feat which has not being achieved since Egypt’s run of three titles in a row (2006, 2008, 2010).
Actually, since 2010 no defending champions of the AFCON has ever gone past the Round of 16.
