Nkwazi thrash Lusaka Dynamos, Nkana edge Celtic as ZESCO are held in Chililabombwe

High Flying Nkwazi came alive in the second half scoring three goals to thrash Lusaka Dynamos 3-0 while defending Champions ZESCO United were held to a 1-1 draw by Konkola Blades away in Chililabombwe.

The MTN Super League week nine action came alive on Saturday afternoon with six matches taking center stage around the country.

Edwin Imboela Stadium in Lusaka hosted a doubleheader. Log leaders Green Buffaloes welcomed Kansanshi Dynamos looking to extend their lead at the summit.

The two teams however failed to find the breakthrough in 90 minutes and settled for a point each.

In the second match of the day, Kafue Celtic went head to head with record 13-time Champions, Nkana. Landlord, Ronald ‘Sate-Sate’ Kampamba scored his first goal of the season to secure maximum points for Kalampa.

The win takes Nkana to fourth place on the log with 13 points while the Crocs drop to 6th place.

Elsewhere, ZESCO United needed a John Ching’andu equalizer to rescue a point against Konkola Blades. Chacha Saya put the hosts in the lead in the 49th minute before Ching’andu could level matters three minutes later.

At Nkoloma Stadium, A late Langdon Mbewe brace and a goal from Stephen Mutama gave Nkwazi a well-deserved 3-0 win over Lusaka Dynamos to reduce the Green Buffaloes lead at the summit of the table to just 3 points.

At Levy Mwanawasa Stadium, 2007 CAF young player of the year, Clifford Mulenga rescued a point for Forest Rangers as they played to a 1-1 draw with Kabwe Warriors.

Akakulubelwa Mwachiaba put the magnificent people’s team in the lead with a sublime free-kick in the 85th minute before Mulenga snatched a point with a goal in the third minute of additional time.

In Choma, Green Eagles’ poor home form continued as they were held to a goalless draw by Indeni.
