Nkana winger apologises for bizarre facebook profile picture

Nkana winger Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba has apologised for his facebook profile picture which caused quiet a stir on social media as it was interpreted to be a dig aimed at Coach Beston Chambeshi.

The former Power dynamos midfielder however clarified that it had nothing to do with football and apologised for the confusion the said profile picture might have caused.

Mubanga was substituted in the first half against San Pedro after getting an unnecessary yellow card and decided not to to shake his coaches hand before refusing to return from the dug out after half time.

Here is Mubanga’s full post.

I AM A COMMITTED NKANA PLAYER

It’s a good day to you all my fellow fans. If you follow trend, I did apologise after the FC San Pedro game over my behaviour after been substituted and I think I was disappointed with myself as I was looking forward to that game. I Iet my fans down as well as the club. We sometimes have bad days.

But to interpret my profile picture toward what happened on Saturday is out of context and if there are some of you that feel hard done by my profile picture which I have since dropped, I vehemently apologize. That had noting to do with football or that happened on Saturday during the game.

We are footballers and being left out of the team is something we all go through and we understand. Football is a team/group sport unlike sports like Golf or Tennis where most times than not individual people play.

The coach is in charge of the team and we learn to stand with the decisions made and we have to abide by them. I dissapointed my fellow team mates by my action which undermined their contributions to the team. Iam committed to the Technical team, my fellow players, Exco and indeed you my fans because a player can not stand alone.

We can only achieve a lot by standing together and as the Bembas say, umunwe umo tausale nda.

I would therefore, like to wish my team all the very best as they engage in this task and I know they will do it.

All the best lads.

Kechi

  1. The young man must tone down. We have had skillful players whose talent has gone to waste, actually more skillful & talented than him. Most of these young talents were associated with indiscipline. The young man must look up to his team mate Mr Joseph Musonda, it is discipline that has made him to still play at the highest level at 42yrs. Let the young man Search for players like Melvin Mwila, Emmanuel Zulu, Gibson Shikilwa etc. Anyhow, it is good he has apoligised and realised his mistake.
