Nkana FC are likely to be the busiest team during the mid-season transfer window as they look to boost their squad in attempt to improve their fortunes in the second half of the season.
Israel based striker Evans Kangwa has been spotted training with Nkana and is expected to return from his loan stint in Israel.
The record league champions have ended the first half of the season in 11th position on 17 points just 2 points out of the relegation zone.
Nkana have confirmed that they have recalled league top scorer Jimmy Ndhlovu who was on loan at Power Dynamos. The combination of Ndhlovu and Kangwa is expected to bring the goals which have eluded Nkana who have only scored 7 times in 15 games.
Coach Aggrey Chiyangi may also land former Napsa Stars attacking midfielder Seith Sakala who spent time in Israel after the close of the league last year.
Kangwa last season played in Israel at Hapoel Ra’anana but was reported to be looking for a new club at the end of the season.
Players recalled and expected to sign at Nkana
1. Jimmy Beleck Ndhlovu – Power Dynamos
2. Masauso Zimba – Konkola Blades
3. Evans Kangwa Jr. – Hapoel Ra’anana Israel
4. Jacob Keli Mutunge – AFC Leopards Kenya
5. Richard Kasonde- Power Dynamos
6. Seith Sakala- Formerly Of Napsa Stars
7. Osman Amir – Ghana
8. Alpha Yakubu – Nigeria
9. Kondo Arimiyawuo – Togo

Panic button at arms’ length lol
Evans Kangwa had a promising career and I wish he had gone to pirates coz now Nkana are taking him backwards. I don’t know what’s next for this boy and he’s not getting younger.
It’s good that Kalampa has Identified players that can help them to get better results however my concern is that the number of players coming in is too big it’s like trying to build a team midway through the season i hope it doesn’t backfire for our friends cause players sometimes take time to gel & play as a unit….
Hello Dynamite, the problem is we lost quite a good number of players and got below average players. Hence the need to reinforce. It will be good to have a big squad if we wish to compete favorably. Another player not mentioned win the article is Julius Situmbeko who I wish will join the red team.
@PK I understand your point of view I just didn’t think of it that way, a big squad is definitely a good thing my concern was on cohesion and unison because it might take you a bit of time for you to play as a team and mind you we are half way through the season time is not really on your side!
That Evans Kangwa there is a problem… no one can keep him for long. He is another Fwayo Tembo.
Good observation @Nostra. The moment he “got sick” after the AFCON 2012 win by Zambia, made me think this boy is a problem. I guess he got overwhelmed by the millions they were given and couldn’t believe it. This made him forgot what he was supposed to be doing as a player, playing football despite big wins and big money. Poverty is a disease.
I wonder where Nkana get the money to acquire and keep all these players. They must have a huge salary bill.
when i see Togolese, Ghanians, and Nigerians playing football in Zambia, as well as Israel based players, one can only say, “surely, our league is become professional
Loooooool !!
Hmm! I WONDER WAT LUSANGA IS ALL ABT WHEN THE CHIPOS PLAYS THE WEST AFRICANS..
Chindika Nkana are not taking Evans Kangwa backwards, that israeli team wants Kangwa but the seen unwilling to sign him permanently or otherwise they are avoiding paying transfer fees so mã loan fye, and Nkana management can let that to continue happening
ths z quiet interestn, hop those foreigners will spice up ur hom league,if they ar nt crap players. As 4 kalampa, all th best.
Tunisia and Belgian coach George Leekens part ways
Tunisia and Belgian coach George Leekens have parted ways, the national football federation (FTF) has confirmed.
The move comes just two weeks after hosts Tunisia crushed Djibouti 8-1 in the first match of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign.
Leekens guided Tunisia to the 2015 Cup of Nations quarter-finals.
They then suffered a controversial defeat by hosts Equatorial Guinea in the last eight.
A hotly disputed stoppage time penalty helped the home side to equalise and they triumphed 2-1 after extra time.
The FTF announced the decision to part company with Leekens on their website.
“We have decided (on) an amicable separation between the two parties without any payment on the part of FTF or George Leekens.”
It is not known if Leekens, whose contract with Tunisia ran to March 2016, has lined up alternate employment.
Reigning African champions Ivory Coast are seeking a coach after Frenchman Herve Renard resigned to join Ligue 1 club Lille.
Leekens has also worked in Turkey, Algeria, Netherlands and Saudi Arabia.
Officials said the Belgian would be replaced by another foreign coach.
The next Cup of Nations qualifier for the ‘Carthage Eagles’ is away to Liberia during September.
