Nkana to return to Chilata after the derby but without fans

The Kitwe derby set for November 12th at the National Heroes Stadium will be Nkana’s last game in Lusaka.

Club CEO Kelvin Mutafu confirmed that the electric fixture will mark the end of the Lusaka chapter for Nkana.

Nkana will return to their traditional home, Chilata but will be without fans for three months before the fans are finally allowed in for the last three matches.

The Kitwe giants were in June ordered to find a venue 60km from Wusakile by the FAZ Disciplinary Committee.

This follows crowd trouble in the 2-0 defeat to Power Dynamos in the Kitwe derby which saw the halted for over 15 minutes after a female match.

“Another reminder is that unfortunately once we get back Pa Chilata (Nkana Stadium), we will kick-start our home journey without you our 12th PLAYER. This will definitely take a toll on our finances as we will have no game revenue to fulfill fixtures, and that is another reason why the DERBY in Lusaka will come in handy to cushion some expenses of a few fixtures that will follow. We know this period will be tough but with your support we shall conquer.

I need not to remind you that our start of the league has been shaky, but Executive Committee and technical bench are up to speed to ensure that the necessary steps needed to reinforce the team are taken. We wish to earnestly thank you the supporters and sympathizers for your support during this very difficult period, especially coupled with challenges of playing away from our Home Ground.

Nevertheless, be assured that we will bounce back soon, and get back into the winning Gear. No situation is permanent, and KALAMPA NI KALAMPA!.”

Nkana are winless and currently sit bottom of the table with only three points accumulated in the opening eight games.
