Chipolopolo winger Lameck Banda has expressed happiness with his return to action with his Serie A side UC Lecce following an injury lay-off.
Banda took to social media to express his happiness after playing the last 23 minutes of Lecce’s round 9 Serie A encounter.
Banda returned to action on Monday night after close to a month out with a thigh injury.
The 22 year old was a second half substitute in Lecce’s 1-1 draw against Udinese in a Serie A match.
Banda replaced Remi Oudin in the 67th minute for 10th placed Lecce with 13 points.
The Zambian has been sidelined since September and subsequently missed the international break matches against Egypt and Uganda.
The return of Banda is a boost for Zambia’s quest for a maiden appearance at the FIFA World Cup.
The 2012 African Cup of Nations Champions open their FIFA World Cup qualifiers with a home tie against Congo Brazzaville on November 13, 2023.
A week later Zambia will be away in Niger on match day 2.
