Nkana silence little known Tanzanian side

A second half goal from Diamond Chikwekwe earn Zambian glamour side Nkana maximum points in a CAF Confederations Cup match against Tanzanian side Namungo.

The match started an hour late after Nkana’s COVID -19 test results were delayed.

With the Covid drama continuing, the Nkana bench had to name five substitutes after Moses Mapulanga and Justin Mwanza’s results were known.

The 13 times Zambian Champions picked themselves up and turned up on the pitch and picked up a vital away win.

The win puts Kalampa third in Group D on three points while the little known Namungo are bottom.

Elswewhere in Group D, Moroccan side Raja Casablanca beat Pyramids of Egypt at home to maintain their unbeaten run. R

Raja and Pyramids have 9 and 6 points after match day 3.

On match day 4 in a week’s time, Nkana will host Namungo at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium while Pyramids will welcome the visit of leaders Raja in a North African affair.
