Nkana recall striker Ndhlovu

MISFIRING Nkana has recalled current Super League’s top scorer Jimmy Ndhlovu from neighbours Power Dynamos.

Darious Kapembwa of The Post reports that the Wusakili outfit has also acquired Kenya national team striker Jacob Keli Mutunga on a permanent basis from AFC Leopards.

Ndhlovu has been on loan at Arthur Davies Stadium for one and half years where he helped Power to the CAF Confederation Cup qualification last year and is in the running for the golden boot this season having scored six goals in 12 games so far.

Nkana, the 2013 league champions, have dipped in form and only scored seven goals after 14 matches.

Nkana secretary Kenny Mwansa confirmed in an interview that Ndhlovu’s 2015 loan deal officially ends this month and will not be renewed.

“I have already written to our colleagues [Power] reminding them that the loan is coming to an end this month end and I have informed them that we are recalling him and they have acknowledged receipt of our notice,” Mwansa said.

He disclosed that Ndhlovu had already signed a new contract with Nkana.

“In fact he has signed a new contract with us up to 2017. Let me take this opportunity to thank our colleagues. We have a very good relationship which is good for football development,” he said.

Meanwhile, Mwansa said Keli arrives today and will be availed to the team subject to a routine medical test and will sign a contract.

“He was top scorer in 2013, came second last year, and is leading the Kenyan Premier League with eight goals this season. He is coming tomorrow. We are hoping things will turn around,” said Mwansa.

  1. And then you complain when the national team is not doing fine fyonse ati ni Kalu! Mid season break is here and your top scorer in the league has six(6) goals!!! The problem in Zambia and most African nations is about the now. No one wants to sacrifice themselves to put things straight.

The same material is transplanted to the national team and you expect different results.

Where is the youth system that natures players from a young age into players of repute? Very sad state of affairs indeed.

  2. They shud also recall Zeddy and Gift. Otherwise wit Beston they went under and with Aggrey they aint goin nowhere period.

  3. Jacob Keli will fit very well in the Zambian league but AFC Leopards one of the oldest clubs in Kenya is crumbling having lost almost the entire first 11 due to financial problems,Zamfoot should also correct that Keli is not the leading scorer in the KPL,its Meddie Kagere and Ali Hassan Abondo both of Gor Mahia with 9 goals.
