French Ligue 1 side, Lille Football has invited Chipolopolo strikers Patson Daka and Patrick Ngoma for trials for a period of two weeks. The duo is expected to leave for France this week.
A ZamFoot source reviewed that the duo will leave for France by Friday pending completion of visa formalities.
Patrick and Patson have had stints with the junior and senior national teams this year.
In February Daka captained the Zambia Under Seventeen squad at the CAF U17 Championships in Niger were he scored two goals.
Ngoma was part of the senior Zambian soccer team at the Afcon finals in Equatorial Guinea. In March this year Ngoma was in the Zambia U20 squad that competed in Senegal at the CAF U20 finals.

They are not too raw for this. In fact they are late. To make it as a pro one needs to learn and adapt to so many new things. That’s why it’s so important that players start that process while still young and not when they’re already in their twenties.

Kalaba does not want to go to france, it appears he is very comfortable in DR Congo. He is one player who is not ready to compete for a position in a team with seasoned players in a very competitive league. Remember what he did in France and Portugal.
What did he do in France and Portugal?
In France he blamed the coach then for lack of game time. He wanted an automatic start, and he felt home sick a lot. In Portugal he would miss training on most days or he would report for training in the morning smelling of liquor and on more than one occasion was sent back home by the coach. In Africa such can be tolerated and especially if he is considered a star. he would be allowed to train even if with a hangover and half fit. He missed that about Africa.
Its like most of you don’t understand how it works,we need to be educated how it works to buy players.
For long we have cried our lack of connections in Europe. We have cried foul when we our Ghana brothers export a lot of unskilled players to Europe and end up clinching deals which in turn fine tunes their skill set and get back to Kumasi and contribute greatly to their national team. These boys are going to Europe and for that we should be thankful and be optimistic about the future of Zambian football. Whether the corruption of Kalu plays a role here, we should look at the big picture and that is the benefit to the skills these young boys will acquire once they impress Lille. Its all about connections now, so lets support and pray that these kids do well at Lille. Yes we hate the corruption and antics by the Kalu admin, but the can help alot of young boys to Europe, then lets support and give them credit where its due. Its just my opinion and does not mean you have to agree with it, I am just looking at a big picture and that’s Zambia national team. Okocha bacame a star because he went to visit his brother who was a footballer in Germany. That brother invited(connected) okocha for training session while on a visit and the rest is history. George weah recommended Mohammed Kallo with a personal letter to Inter milan, and the rest is history even Eto was connected to Europe by Weah. They are many instances that we don’t know about, but the point is, it is not just skill that would let our boys break into European league, but a lot have to come into play and the Kalu/HR influence is welcomed. Just my 2 cents worth.
This is very true TC Soccerman. I know so many players who clinched pro deals simply because of connections. I actually very nearly connected a Malawian friend of mine to Celtic FC in Scotland (and am not even a scout yet). Moral of the story: there are many ways to kill a bird.

My guess is that Kalu is in a hurry to make big bucks , remember he lost one of his mansions to the zim Kaloba guy.
In the game against GB it was known that patson daka was going to start…and pipo here were all excited ka…little did they know that patson has/had a price tag and that was a game to showcase him to three scouts from europe….
I’d like to look at this issue from the other side of the fence, despite his alleged corrupt way of doing things, why is it Kalu is seeing potential in this boy so much so that he is going out of his way to market the lad? Is it not because the boy is good? If the boy was just an average player would he have been a marketing target for Kalu?
Yes Kalu might be looking at coining it by selling this player and his sole focus is the dollar signs he sees in this boy but surely for a seasoned footballing professional to be so adamant on this boy it shows that the boy must have something special. I don’t agree with his selection for all the national teams and also feel his best bet for Europe would be firstly an academy or junior side rather than a big team like Lille but with that said I am still happy that the opportunity has come knocking. Even if these boys don’t crack it, it will be a lesson to them how to approach trails in Europe so the next time they will have a bigger chance of cracking it.

The loss of two points in the game against GB was not only due to team selection, it was also due to poor coaching tactical approach. Lets not heap all the blame on the team selection there were many other factors and team selection is just one of them.
