Record 13 time MTN Super League Champions, Nkana will be looking to continue their unbeaten run when they welcome ZANACO at Chilata.
Nkana are coming off a draw with Forest Rangers and will look to return to winning ways this afternoon.
Meanwhile ZANACO are coming from back to back losses and will be hoping to get a famous win in Wusakile in a bid to avoid relegation.
ZANACO head coach Numba Mumamba says his side has prepared adequately for this encounter.
“We have prepared adequately for this game. I think we are coming from two consecutive losses which makes our position on the table a very dicey situation, but looking at what we have done in training the team is set and looking forward to the game,” he said.
“Of Course we are very much worried looking at the games that are remaining. We have remained with very few games where we need to pull up our socks, work hard in the remaining few games and survive relegation. From the preparations we have made the team is looking forward to this game. We are in high spirits, all we need is to apply ourselves so that we go back with maximum points.”
Nkana needs a win to move into the top two of the league standings, while Zanaco requires a victory to avoid the relegation battle and possibly climb up the table.
With 51 points from 29 matches, Nkana is currently third in the MTN Super League table, 18 points above 14th-placed Zanaco.
ZANACO is facing a daunting challenge, sitting 14th in the standings with 32 points and fighting to avoid relegation. A disappointing 3-1 home loss to Nkwazi last weekend has added to the pressure.
In contrast, Nkana will be seeking revenge when the two teams meet again, having lost 1-0 to Zanaco in November. Following their recent draw with Forest Rangers, Nkana will be eager to secure all three points.
In the head-to-head statistics since 2008, Zanaco has a slight advantage over Nkana, having won 12 of their 31 league meetings, while Kalampa has secured 9 victories.
The match is scheduled to kick off at 15:00 in Wusakile, Kitwe.
