Record 13 time Zambia Super League Champions, Nkana are in Mufulira for their preseason camp in preparation for the 2021/2022 Super League season.
The team will camp at the luxurious Mufulira Dam and Boating Club, located just 11 kilometers outside, Mufulira town center. The club confirmed the development on their social media pages.
“NKANA FC last evening left for 10-day pre-season camping at the Mufulira Dam and Boating Club. Located 11km (about 25 minutes) outside of Mufulira town on a grated gravel road, the Mufulira Dam and Boating Club is said to be the best boating and camping club on the Copperbelt and one of the best in the country.”
Acting Chief Executive Officer, Mutale Kapwepwe explained that the pre-season was very important to make sure the team can meet their set goals for the coming 2021/2022 Soccer Season.
“The team will be out for 10 days at the Mufulira Dam and Boating Club and the technical team and the players will continue with their high intensive training as we look forward to the start of the new season.
We have goals to achieve for the coming season, hence the importance of this pre-season outing cannot be overemphasized,” Mutale told Nkana media.
Mufulira Dam and Boating Clubhouses soccer fields, a volleyball court, swimming pool, and the campsite. It also has a good natural sand beach on the southern side of the campsite.
The club also hinted that new signings will be unveiled soon. The team is without head coach Beston Chambeshi, goalkeeper Kelvin Malunga, Patrick Gondwe, and Harrison Chisala who are all in camp with the National team.
In Mufulira, 18 players led by Alex Ng’onga together with the newcomers will be drilled by Chambeshi’s assistant ahead of the new season which kicks off on 11 September.
