…Kamanga finished 7th out of 10 candidates
Football Association of Zambia, FAZ President Andrew Kamanga’s bid to become a FIFA council member suffered a set back on Wednesday.
And South Africa’s Patrice Motsepe has been re-elected as CAF President for the next 4 years.
With five slots up for grabs to represent Africa at the FIFA council, ten African FA Presidents went to the polls on Wednesday in Giza City, Egypt.
Kamanga polled 19 votes ahead of Yacine Diallo (18) and Augustin Senghor (13) of Cote d’Ivoire and Senegal respectively.
Nigeria’s Amaju Pinnick also failed to make the cut after getting 28 points.
The top five was dominated by North Africans.
Morocco’s Fouzi Lekjaa and Hani Abou Rida of Egypt were the top two with 49 and 35 votes respectively.

Djibrilla Hima Hamidou (Niger), Ahmed Yahya (Mauritania) and Djibouti’s Souleiman Waber complete the top five.
Comoros’ Kanizat Ibrahim scooped the Women seat.
