Ng’onga, Ching’andu replace injured duo for Nigeria clash

Power Dynamos striker Alex Ng’onga is back in the Chipolopolo squad.

The 24 year old striker has replaced the injured Brian Mwila.

The Platinum Stars striker has failed to recover from an injury he picked up in the home tie against Algeria in which he scored a brace but failed to make the trip for the return match owing to injury.

Mwila has been in terrific form for Zambia since making his debut against Gabon in a friendly match and has gone on to score 7 times in 8 games making him the Chipolopolo’s leading scorer this year.

Belgium based midfielder Emmanuel Banda Jnr who made his debut for the senior team in the away game against Algeria has also been ruled out of the tie due to an injury.

The 20 year old midfielder has been replaced by Zesco United winger John Ching’andu.

  1. Alex has the traits of a good striker; getting in the right position at the right time. The coach, like Jose Mourinho, should have got in his head;pre match, and told him to calm down and not be over awed by the moment of the occasion.

    • From close range it doesn’t require great power shooting; his main problem was lack of composure; the coach should council him and other local players on the night before the game as Mourinho does for inexperienced players with some raw talent. Man management.

  2. Where is Kalaba what’s the problem with Zambians sure sure you get Alex you leave Kalaba then you nyirenda open up your eyes

  3. My Question to u wed, has FIFA baned our present stars KALABA , Sinkala? Then why are u imposing Gonga in front of my TV even if we wawn that game ngonga is Gonga.I think ba Coach u have been big headed, without even tangible achievement.look even if we win in Nigeria by 1:0 which can not happen qualifying BA wada ni miracle

  4. Iv seen him score some brilliant goals and his movement does unsettle defences. This is what we have, this is what we will work with.. Chipolopolo all the way.
