The quest for Promotion to the FAZ National Division One kicked off with exciting fixtures on Monday at Nationalist and Edwin Imboela Stadium.
Group A saw Chipata United and Mpulungu Youth take an early lead after their respective wins.
Brian Sakala scored a second half brace for Lion boys to stir them to a 2-1 win over Luena Buffaloes.
Chanda Anthony who was recently crowned as the most disciplined player in Northern Province, scored the only goal of the game in the 58th minute to seal a win for Mpulungu.
Elsewhere, Roan United edged Southern Province Champions Riverplate 2-1 to take an early lead in Group B.
Francis Mwenya put Riverplate in the lead just ten minutes into the match.
Patson Zyambo however levelled matters for Roan in the 67th minute before Andrew Kashindi could grab the lead in the 78th minute.
The second match of the day at Nationalist Stadium saw Young Prison Leopards beat Mwaimwena Strikers 2-1.
Charles Chomba and Bornface Kashiwa scored for Young Prison Leopards while Davies Mwansa scored the consolation goal for Mwaimwena.
