ND1: Konkola Blades edge closer to a super league return, Kysa overpowers Crocs

After a one-week break due to International matches, the FAZ/Eden University National League returned to action last weekend with some crunch encounters as teams continue fighting for promotion while the likes of Zesco Shockers are all but ready to be relegated.

Konkola Blades faced a tricky encounter as they hosted Gomes at their home ground and as expected the match lived up to everyone’s expectations, Gomes grabbed an early lead in the first half and played compact throughout.

With an hour gone, Konkola Blades Head Coach Lewingtone Mujembe brought in Francis Mubanga who completely changed the game as he scored two goals which handed sharp Blades an all-important 2-1 win.

In Kabwe, Kysa hosted a rejuvenated Kafue Celtic side which is sitting in the third position and looking good for promotion to the Super League. KYSA started the match on a high as they grabbed a goal just minutes after kickoff through Progress Malama then added a second just before halftime through Thomas Likafi.

In the other games played on Sunday, Might Mufulira Wanderers have continued their good form as they recorded another important win against Chambishi while Nchanga Rangers shared spoils with Kashikishi Warriors in a four goals encounter.
