MTN Super League action produced goals and decisive results on Saturday as Nchanga Rangers, Nkana, FC MUZA, and Kansanshi Dynamos all recorded important victories in Week 23, while the clash between Kabwe Warriors and ZANACO was postponed due to heavy rains.
At Nchanga Stadium, Nchanga Rangers delivered one of the standout performances of the day with a commanding 3-0 victory over Mines United.
Forward Mwiza Siwale led the charge with a clinical brace, striking in the 15th and 71st minutes, while Jacob Kaunda added the second goal in the 20th minute to seal an emphatic win for the side coached by George Lwandamina.
The convincing triumph lifts Nchanga Rangers to third place on 40 points, moving them above ZANACO in the standings as the race at the top of the table continues to intensify.
At Nkana Stadium, Nkana finally halted a difficult run of form by defeating Konkola Blades 2-0 to end a three-match losing streak.
Charles Zulu opened the scoring in the 35th minute before striker Lazarus Kambole doubled the advantage ten minutes into the second half to ensure a comfortable afternoon for the hosts.
The victory provides some much-needed relief for Nkana, who climb to 10th place with 28 points as they look to rebuild momentum in the second half of the campaign.
Meanwhile, at Nakambala Stadium, FC MUZA handed title contenders Red Arrows just their fourth defeat of the season in a tightly contested encounter.
Kelvin Mwanza gave MUZA the lead in the 28th minute before Emmanuel Habasimbi doubled the advantage shortly after the break in the 57th minute.
Joseph Phiri reduced the deficit for Red Arrows in the 80th minute, but the visitors were unable to complete a comeback as MUZA held firm to secure a 2-1 victory.
In Solwezi, Kansanshi Dynamos made home advantage count with a solid 2-0 win over Mufulira Wanderers at Independence Stadium.
Kizito Keziron opened the scoring early in the 11th minute before Wanderers defender Francis Simunika inadvertently turned the ball into his own net in the 54th minute to hand Kansanshi Dynamos a comfortable cushion.
Elsewhere, the fixture between Kabwe Warriors and ZANACO at Godfrey Ucar Chitalu Stadium was postponed after a heavy downpour rendered the pitch unplayable.
