Natasha Nanyangwe braces Buffaloes to victory

Natasha Nanyangwe scored a brace to guide Green Buffaloes Women’s Football Club to their first win of the season beating Indeni Roses 2-1.

Nanyangwe put Buffaloes in the lead in the 8th minute with a sublime free kick.

Indeni Roses leveled matters in the 35th minute as Ngosa Chabwe benefited from a poor decision by goalkeeper Ng’ambo Petronella Musole who failed to clear the ball and Ngabwe pounced and made it 1-1.

Natasha Nanyangwe however put Buffaloes back in the lead just before half time with a close range finish off a Maweta Chilenga assist.

In the second half, Maweta Chilenga had two chances and Esther ‘Gelo’ Banda had chances to increase the lead but both could not convert.

Mwila Mufunte who came in to replace Musole in the first half was rarely tested and Buffaloes held on to win the match 2-1 to move to 4 points.

Indeni Roses played the majority of the match with a player less after Thandiwe Nkhata was given marching orders following a nasty tackle on Evarine Susan Katongo in the first half.

Katongo was lively in the middle of the park while for Indeni Grace Phiri and Hellen Banda made their debut for the club after their switch from Play It Forward.

Full-time

Green Buffaloes 2-1 Indeni Roses

(Natasha Nanyangwe 8′ 45+4′ | Ngosa Chabwe 35′)
