ZESCO United interim coach Emmanuel Siwale says his side is just focused on today’s game against NAPSA Stars set for Reiz Arena this afternoon.
Siwale guided ZESCO United to the CAF Confederation Cup group stage but he has since shifted focus back to the league saying the game against Jwaneng Galaxy is a bygone and NAPSA Stars is the focus now.
“The team is well prepared and we are looking forward to playing in NAPSA Stars,” Siwale said.
“We are playing NAPSA Stars that game is a bygone and this is a different tournament so to speak so our focus is the league we played the CAF (Confederation Cup) because of the league so what is important is the NAPSA Stars game.”
“Like I’ve said, what is important is the NAPSA Stars game, us is to look for three points and the rest we leave it to the officials and the like because our focus should only be the game, playing NAPSA Stars and collecting maximum points,” he added.
NAPSA Stars have only managed one win this season but Siwale says his side should not look at that because this is football which has three results.
“This is football, and I will keep on referring to what I’ve just said. This is football and there are three results and it’s even dangerous for us to think that the game will play itself and win for us. We are playing NAPSA, we are in the same league, we respect them. Maybe they are just going through a bad patch and this is football. So we shouldn’t go there and think that because they haven’t done what. So we shouldn’t even mind them. We should mind our own business. So our business is playing NAPSA,” he said.
The Zega Mambo gaffer has urged the fans to keep supporting the team and pushing them to greater heights.
“These people, we are in Zambia and we have our fans dotted throughout the country and talking about the same i know from Ndola they will travel definitely and these are the people who again i repeat who have made us to achieve what we have achieved and we are still appealing to them not to relent but to continue pushing us so that we can achieve our objective so for now our objective is NAPSA so let them come in numbers so that they they cheer us and push us so that we can carry the day,” he said.
ZESCO United has won 17 of the last 25 meetings between the two sides with NAPSA Stars only managing three while the other five have ended in draws.
Kick off at Reiz Arena is set for 15h00 with tickets going at K30,K50 and K100 and sold at ShopRite stores countrywide via Computicketing.
