NAPSA Stars, Standbic Bank Zambia renew sponsorship deal

Zambia Super League side, NAPSA Stars have have renewed their shirt sponsorship deal with Standbic Bank Zambia.

The season long deal is worth $70,000. The deal was signed on Tuesday afternoon at NAPSA offices at Levy Mwanawasa shopping mall.

The deal was first signed in August 2019 and the relationship between the two has continued to grow from strength to strength.

Stanbic Bank Zambia CEO Mwindwa Siakalima reiterated the Bank’s commitment to supporting the club through thick and thin.

Siakalima went on to wish NAPSA Stars head coach Perry Mutapa and his technical bench the best of luck in the 2022/2023 season.

“We are greatly honored to be here today to reaffirm our mutual interest in Sports development in our Country. We have a fruitful partnership with NAPSA, the institution, in sponsoring Napsa Stars Football Club.

As Stanbic Bank, our business strategy under its sustainability pillar and corporate social responsibility fully supports the promotion of sports as part of the country’s developmental goals. Therefore, for the past two seasons, Stanbic Bank has supported the Napsa Stars Football Club, as the bank stands with Napsa in the development of sporting activities across the country. We have supported the club through “thick and thin” and have stood by them in both good and difficult times. As a firm believer in cultural and community upliftment the Bank is dedicated to activities that not only engage the youth but also develops and motivates them to be great contributors in our society and the economy at large.

Ladies and Gentlemen, we are therefore excited to renew our sponsorship to NAPSA Stars Football Club for the 2022 season at a cost of today’s Kwacha equivalent of USD70,000.”

NAPSA Director General Muyangwa Muyangwa was left delighted with the support from Standbic Bank and went on to call on more sponsors to come on board.

“As a former player myself with a lot of passion in football, I am very delighted with the support that you have continued to give the club. The partnership with NAPSA is more than just corporate social responsibility,” Munyangwa said.

NAPSA Stars Board Chairman John Chundu who spoke on behalf of the club thanked the two sponsors NAPSA and Standbic Bank Zambia for the continued support to the team.

“Football is a very expensive venture in this part of the world so the involvement of other partners is very important and in this regard we would like to thank NAPSA for the sponsorship and indeed thanks to Standbic who have been with us for three years,” he said.

“This relationship is for the mutual benefit of both us but at this point I just want to say thank you to you CEO and your team for this partnership and we hoping it will continue to grow. We back in the Super League and we have great ambitions,” he added.

The 2022 ABSA Cup Champions are back in the MTN Super League after a season in the Eden University National Division One.

The Pensiners are currently out in Livingstone preparing for the new season which kicks ifc next month.
