NAPSA Stars Appoint Chilumba as Head Coach in Technical Bench Reshuffle

NAPSA Stars have announced the appointment of a new technical bench in a decisive move aimed at arresting their difficult 2025/26 MTN Super League campaign and restoring competitiveness.

The club has confirmed that Technical Director Tenant Chilumba has assumed the role of Head Coach. He will be assisted by First Assistant Coach Zeddy Saileti and Second Assistant Coach Keegan Syabeene, while Philip Banda has been appointed as Goalkeeper Coach.

Chilumba has already taken charge of his first match, overseeing Sunday’s 2–0 defeat away to Red Arrows, as NAPSA continue to battle for form and consistency.

Welcoming the new technical bench, Chief Executive Officer Charles Chakatazya expressed confidence that the appointments would help steer the club back on course.

“We are pleased to welcome Coach Tennant Chilumba and his technical team to NAPSA Stars. Their experience, leadership and understanding of the game will be key in restoring stability, strengthening discipline and improving our competitiveness. As a club, we remain focused on raising performance levels and delivering results that reflect the ambition and standards of NAPSA Stars,” Chakatazya said.

The changes come in the wake of the club’s recent decision to part ways with head coach Sipho Mumbi, his assistant Lawrence Munsha Lubinda, and goalkeeper coach Samuel Banda. The Lusaka-based side confirmed on Friday that the separation was reached by mutual agreement following a prolonged run of poor results.

NAPSA Stars have endured a challenging season, managing just four league wins so far and currently sitting only two points above the relegation zone.
