Napsa Stars have sidelined coach Hector Chiombo and his entire technical bench after a poor start to the season.
Despite leading the team to their best ever finish in the super league last season when the ended in fifth position, the executive have not given Chilombo a benefit of doubt and moved quickly to place him of forced leave with only 6 games played.
“We have sent away coach Hector and the entire technical bench on indefinite leave and this is part of our performance review as you may be aware Napsa Stars has not been performing well this season,” he told the Times of Zambia.
Chipinde said the executive had since appointed Hamakwanda from Young Napsa who will be assisted by Milanzi, who hanged up the boots last year and that their performance would be assessed for a month before a decision is made.
“We shall assess the interim coaches for a month and based on their performance the club will make a decision on the way forward,” Chipinde said.
Meanwhile, Chilombo pledged to remain loyal to the club until when the one month forced leave expires.
“Yes we have been given letters stating that we have been put on forced leave for a month. But I will remain loyal to the club and will see what happens when the period expires, whether we shall be retained or fired,” said the Zambia Under-20 soccer team coach.
Napsa Stars are currently deep in relegation waters having collected only 4 points from a possible 18.
