Mwiinde talks Israel move, COSAFA and gives young players advice

Zambia U20 national team striker Emmanuel Mwinde has made his first career jump after penning a six month long deal with Israeli top flight side Maccabi Petah Tikva.

Mwiinde who was influential in Young Green Buffaloes run to the final of the Barcalys Cup will be attached to the Tikva U19 side so that he can prove his worth. The pacey forward was part of coach Charles Bwale’s U20 squad for the 2018 COSAFA U20 netting just once.

The ZamFoot crew caught up with Mwiinde who wants to do well in the six months and possibly win something with the club.

“My First target since have joined Maccabi is to make sure I do better in these 6months and try to win something with the team,” He told the ZamFoot crew in an exclusive interview.

“The morale is high in the team everyone showing me love and respect so for me it’s a wonderful thing and I adore everything here, being among these right people it’s an Amazing thing cause I used to dream of it,” he added.

The young striker caught the eye of the U20 National team bench after a stellar performance in division one and the Barclays Cup. He was drafted in the squad and managed to score a single goal in the tournament.

 

The tournament was his first experience with the junior national team and he describes it as a challenge that helped him learn some new things.

“I played the recent Cosafa which was my first experience with the national team, it wasn’t easy but I showed the Good player that i’m and indeed have learned alot of things through this Tournament so am happy,” he said.

Mwiinde also has some advice to give to young players who wish to follow in his footsteps. He has emphasized on putting God first.

“What i can tell the Upcoming players is to put God First always believe in themselves, to work hard, to have discipline and to not stop Chasing their dreams because A dream does not die so you can only become what you dream to be..Thats what i can tell them, ” he said.

Mwiinde follows in the footsteps of the likes of Evans Kangwa, Rodger Kola and Emmanuel Mayuka who all launched their European Careers in Israel.
