Mwepu returns, Sakala starts in Rangers win

Zambian midfielder Enock Mwepu completed his first 90 minutes in over a month English Premier League side Brighton on Saturday.

The 23 year old midfielder returned to Graham Potter’s side in the 1-1 draw against Southampton.

Brighton rescued a point at Southampton thanks to Neal Maupay’s 97th minute equaliser.

Mwepu started in a midfield three with Pascal Groß and Yves Bissouma.

This is was the Zambian international’s first start since return from a layoff which saw him miss the international break.

He was unused substitute against West Ham and Leeds United.

This was Mwepu’s seventh league appearances in a stop-start season so far and four of those have been starts.

Mwepu stablised the Brighton midfield

Brighton are still winless in their last 12 matches and have 20 points.

In Scotland, Fashion Sakala made his first start for Rangers under the new manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst in the 3-0 win against Dundee United.

Sakala played wide on the left and completed the match.

He has since scored 5 league goals.

Rangers are leading the pack in Scotland.

Elsewhere in the UK, Leicester City are away to Aston Villa on Sunday.

Patson Daka is expected to start on the bench.
