Mwepu on the move – Germany is calling

Chipolopolo midfield ace Enock Mwepu is expected to leave Redbull Salzburg in the coming few days the ZamFoot Crew understands.

Mwepu has been an influential figure at the Redbull Arena helping them to four Bundesliga titles and three Austrian cups.

According to reports the Computer has attracted interest from English Premier League side Leeds United and Germany Bundesliga side Ballspielverein Borussia 09 e. V. Dortmund, commonly known as Borussia Dortmund.

Mwepu is currently rated at €13 million, a bargain for the quality that the 2017 U-20 AFCON winner possesses.

The move to Germany seems most likely after his former coach Marco Rose has agreed to join Borussia Dortmund as head coach, the Borussia Mönchengladbach man replacing Edin Terzic at the Signal Iduna Park this summer.

Mwepu is among five players in the Austrian local media to be leaving Salzburg together with compatriot Patson Daka, Rasmus Kristensen, Mergïm Berisha, and Andre Ramalho who has already joined PSV Eindhoven.

The 23-year-old was excused from the Chipolopolo Boys squad for next month’s friendly games by coach Milutin Sredojevic to sort out his future.

  1. Borrusia is a good move or leeds he is assured game time.. lets the copper bullet. Show them the goodness you made of.

  2. For me he has been one of the most consistent players at Red Bull Salzburg. He has been the ENGINE for the team in the last 3 years to be honest. Anyone can rewind the Champion league games 2019/2020 against Liverpool at Anfield and in Austria you will see what I’m talking about. He was miles ahead of his team mates in the middle of the park.

He will be a BIG BARGAIN for any team that gets him. Pity the big teams don’t know this guy compared to Patson who’s always in the Headlines.

  3. Our true ambassador of Zambian football together with the other. Dortmund will be a good move. All the best our Zambian son.

  4. I suggest He goes at Borrusia Dortmund. Reason being he will feel at home having a coach who came from his club. Unit and good communication will be first and easily built.
