Former Chipolopolo captain Enock Mwepu has been hospitalised at the Lusaka’s National Heart Hospital near Kenneth Kaunda International Airport after he felt unwell.
The 24 year old’s condition has been described as relatively stable.
Mwepu was diagnosed with a hereditary heart condition last year.
He retired from active football and is currently the coaching Brighton & Hove Under-9s in England.
Mwepu made 128 appearances for three European Clubs; Red Bull Salzburg, Lifering and Brighton. He scored 6 goals.
He won 23 caps for Zambia having made his debut in 2017 against Algeri.
