Zambia’s Kennedy Mweene was named in the CAF Champions League team of the week after his heroics over the weekend.
And in Isreal, Lameck Banda was also named in the team of the week after his eye catching performance for Maccabi Petah Tikva.
Banda scored his 8th goal of the season.
The 37 year got a rare start in goal for Mamelodi Sundowns after first choice Dennis Onyango got injured.
Playing Egyptian side Al Ahly away in Cairo, Mweene was not fazed with the occasion, and showed his experience on the continent.
The Zambian made stunning saves to deny Pitso Mosimane’s strikers and helped Sundowns to a historical 1-0 win over the Cairo giants.
With his performance, Mweene found himself named in the team of the week.
Not matter how Mweene performs Sundowns technical team is never satisfied. They will always make a second choice. As the age is catching up with him , my advise for him is to take a coaching course as soon as you can
