After a two weeks break, the FAZ/Eden University National League returned to action this weekend.
This season’s pacesetters and log leaders Konkola Blades made a long journey to the west to face relegation-threatened by Zesco Shockers at the Independence stadium in Mongu.
Konkola Blades continued their fine form and good performance as they beat Zesco Shockers by two goals to one to condemn new Shockers coach Jackson Mwanza to his second loss in two games after they were beaten by MUZA FC in their last game.
Sharp Blades were gifted an own goal from Shockers defender Moses Banda before leading top Scorer Emmanuel Mwaba scored his eleventh goal of the season to put the game beyond the Zesco Shockers team.
With barely 10 minutes left on the clock, Zesco Shockers have gifted a penalty which was converted by goal keep Steven Mwanza but it was a little too late for a comeback.
In the game played on Thursday last week, Kafue Celtic made sure they avoided Kansanshi Dynamos from collecting six points from them with Zambia under 20 international Peter Chikola scoring two beautiful goals after making some good runs past the Kansanshi Dynamos defense which was so far below it’s standard.
The loss was Kansanshi Dynamos second of the season and it was the first time the Solwezi based outfit have Conceded two goals in a single game this season.
In the other game played in the tourist capital of Livingstone between Livingstone Pirates and Zesco Malaiti Rangers, Pirates made sure they utilized home advantage as they condemned Malaiti Rangers to a one-goal loss at the maramba stadium.
