NAPSA Stars’ head coach Perry Mutapa’s hard work with the attack is behind Musonda Kapembwa’s goalscoring form, the striker has revealed.
Musonda Kapembwa was the difference-maker at Edwin Imboela Stadium over the weekend as he scored the lone goal that sunk his former team Lumwana Radiants and gave the Pensioners their third consecutive victory in the Eden National League.
The win meant, Napsa Stars opened up a five-point lead on the summit of the Eden University/FAZ National Division One log table as Trident dropped points this weekend.
The Napsa stars forward have scored four goals and sit fourth on the goalscoring charts with his last two goals scored in the last seven matches and also added one assist for Napsa stars teammates in that time as well.
“When I was at Buildcon I got a couple of games and that boosted my confidence but now I have the opportunity to build on that confidence as the coach believes in me and his training methodology is simply the best,” Musonda told the ZamFoot Crew.
“I have to put it down to the manager to be fair. There is a lot of stuff we work hard on, our work rate, the set pieces, and our ability to counter.”
With four goals under his belt already Musonda is hoping to keep up his fine form and has set himself a target for the remainder of the campaign.
“Everyone playing against us want to impress which makes all our games very difficult but am happy that we have managed to win games and the most impressive ones are the 1-0 wins because it shows our levels of maturity and the game management we are working on the training pitch is working. It’s beautiful playing under Perry Mutapa because with him it’s always about the smallest details and it’s the secret behind the team’s form and my form.”
The Pensioners sit pretty comfortably on the summit of the National Division One log table with 26 points from 12 games played five more than Trident who are in second place.
