Mighty Mufulira Wanderers and Mutondo Stars have qualified to the MTN Super League following their wins this afternoon over Konkola Blades and Young Buffaloes respectively.
Going into week 34, Three teams had a chance of winning promotion in Mutondo Stars, Mighty Mufulira Wanderers and City of Lusaka.
Mutondo and Wanderers just needed a win to secure promotion while City of Lusaka needed to win and hope for either of the two dropped points.
At Shinde Stadium, Evans Chisenga put the hosts in the lead just after 4 minutes much to the excitement of the fans.
The job was effectively done in the 43rd minute when Clive Bayeta netted from the spot scoring his 22nd goal of the season to seal both Mufulira Wanderers promotion and the top goal scorer award for himself.
At the Baluba School of Excellence, Mutondo Stars swung into action scoring four past Young Buffaloes to seal second place.
Goals from Titus Chansa, Richard Mwila, Osmond Chita and Lucky Sikanyika gave Mutondo a well deserved win.
Mutondo was revived in September, 2020 after being defunct for over 20 years by former Nkana President, Evaristo Kabila.
In June, 2022 Mutondo Stars won Promotion into the National League and now they have been promoted to the MTN Super League, what a story.
At the Bottom of the table, Three teams were fighting to stay up, Aguila Stars, Livingstone Pirates and Atletico Lusaka battling to avoid finishing 15th.
In Kabwe, Charles Majapa Mumba scores from the penalty spot to earn Atletico Lusaka a 1-0 win over Kafue Eagles and maintain their National League status.
At Edwin Imboela Stadium, Aguila Stars edged Mpulungu Harbour 1-0 thanks to a Lawrence Lubinda goal to also secure their National League status.
Meanwhile in Livingstone, Kitwe United beat Livingstone Pirates 3-1 to effectively relegate them from the FAZ National Division One.
