Moses Phiri starts light training

Chipolopolo forward Moses Phiri is back in training with Simba SC teammates after being out with an injury. 

The former Sensational Zanaco man has started light training after being out for three weeks. 

Phiri is in Dubai with Wekundu Wa Msimbazi who are preparing for the resumption of the Tanzania mainland NBC Premier League. 

Phiri sustained an injury during Wekundu Wa Msimbazi’s 1-1 with Kagera Sugar at Kaitaba Stadium on 21st December, 2022.  

Phiri has been a very reliable player for Simba managing 10 goals in 17 league games and the second in the league only surpassed by Fiston Mayele of Yanga who has 14 goals. 

Phiri has also managed 5 goals in the CAF Champions League helping Simba SC book a place in the group stage. 

Simba will today take on UAE side Al Dhafrah in a friendly match in Abu Dhabi before facing Russian side CSKA Moscow on Sunday. 

Simba return to league action on Wednesday when they host Mbeya City at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium.
