Green Eagles head coach Aggrey Chiyangi expressed happiness with his team’s goalless draw against Zesco Utd on Saturday in a week 12 MTN/FAZ Super League encounter played at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
The draw put an end to Zesco united’s 100% winning run since the start of a season recording 9 straight wins before they were held to a nil-nil draw by the Choma based out-fit at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium but they still remain unbeaten after 10 games.
“It was a tough game you know playing Zesco utd its not a small team its a very big team with a lot of experience and looking at the way it went the boys worked very hard because if you see there was a lot of intelligence on Zesco side but at least we managed to hold them which is very good, for us at least a worst a draw is fine,” he said.
Aggrey Chiyangi believes his boys played very well but he is very much concerned with the missed chances by his strikers.
“No i don’t think so because they played well and the only thing that is concerned about is the chances that we had because those were very clear chances which we could have scored but we missed them because what makes a difference in a football match is the goals so that’s the only thing I regret.”
Zesco United will now turn their attention to the Total CAF champions league as they travel to Angola to face Primeiro De Agosto a side who eliminated them from continental football last season. Zesco and Agosto will square off on Saturday, 30th November at the Estádio 11 de Novembro in Luanda while Eagles welcome Kansanshi Dynamos to the Choma Independence Stadium.
