MICHO: IT’S PAINFUL THAT COUNTRIES BELOW ZAMBIA HAVE PLAYERS IN ENGLAND

New Chipolopolo Boys coach Micho has said ‘it is painful that countries below Zambia have players in England’.

And Micho has challenged Zambian players to improve on their mental strength in order to succeed in Europe.

During his unveiling at Lusaka’s Barca Academy, the Serbian born trainer also urged all the stakeholders to work hard.

“You know it is painful that countries below Zambia have players in Aston Villa, all countries are watching Mbwana Samatta (Tanzanian) playing for Aston Villa yet ourselves we have none,” Micho said.

In the last decade, only two Zambian players signed for English Premier League sides.

AFCON winners Collins Mbesuma and Emmanuel Mayuka had spells at Portsmouth and Southampton respectively.

“They have to pull their socks so that they are not cry-babies or excuse lookers or blame shifters but that they are taking responsibility fully and are aware that wherever they have been signed, they have been signed as players to make a difference.”

“Some of them are making a difference, some of them are not making a difference. Those that are making a difference should keep up making a difference, those that are not making a difference to use this period until the transfer window to be ready for the possible challenge.”
