DR Congo giants TP Mazembe have set up camp in Ndola ahead of Saturdays crunchy encounter against Zambia Super League champions, Zesco United. Mazembe arrived in Ndola on Wednesday, December 19th at 20:30 hrs following a five hour drive from Lubumbashi.
Prior to their trip to Zambia they warmed up with a three nil win over AS Dragons in a Linafoot encounter. Coach Pamphile MIHAYO rested Zambian duo of winger Rainford Kalaba and midfielder Nathan Sinkala.
The two are expected to start on Saturday and hence Mihayo wanted them to get the much needed rest ahead of the do or die encounter at Levy Mwanawasa Stadium.
Chipolopolo defensive kingpin Kabaso Chongo put in a full ninety minute shift and is also expected to put in another 90 minutes on Saturday.
The Ravens are highly motivated following the first leg result and the routine win in midweek. Defender Djos Issama believes the team is ready to do anything to make it to the next round.
“It’s a tiring trip, that’s for sure. But to play a place in the group stage of the Champions League, the TPM would be ready to spend even a whole day traveling to seek a qualification,” Issama told TP Mazembe media shortly after arriving in Ndola.
Zesco United will be looking to reverse the first leg loss and progress to the group stage. TP Mazembe on the other hand will be hoping for more of the same performance and result from the first leg.
Zesco must concentrate and ensure they qualify to the group stage. All the best.
