Mayuka’s Zamalek fire coach Mido

Uncertain times lie ahead for Zambian striker Emmanuel Mayuka after Zamalek dismissed head coach Ahmed Hossam ‘Mido’ barely a month after the striker made a move to the club.

The Egyptian giants who are second on the log showed how impatient they are to see results when they quickly showed the former Pharaohs striker the door having only been appointed manager in January.

It may not be very good news for Mayuka who is only settling at the club and has only played twice for Zamalek but was not named in the team that played against leaders Al Ahly on Tuesday.

Mido started well with four back to back wins but his team has gone four games without a win with last straw having been yesterday’s loss against Al Ahly which extend their lead at the top to 7 points.

General coach Mohamed Salah will take over as interim manager and it remains to be seen if Mayuka will be in contention for a place in the team that plays Wadi Degla this Sunday.

  1. Eish, Mayuka has no luck. Didn’t the same thing happen at Metz. He got signed then the coach left and Mayuka fell off the map.
