Emmanuel Mayuka and Rodgers Kola are the only Zambian players who will play in UEFA competitions in the 2015/2016 season.
Mayuka’s Southampton had a lucky break after Arsenal who had already secured a Champions league position by finishing third won the FA Cup on Saturday leaving the last Europa League spot open for seventh placed Southampton.
Ronald Koeman’s side will enter the Europa League at the third qualifying round stage, needing to win two two-legged matches to qualify for the group stages of the competition.
Kola on the other hand secured a place in the Europa League after Ironi Kiryat Shmona finished second on the Ligat Ha’al log.
Fwayo Tembo’s team missed out on a European spot on goal difference after they were pipped to third position CFR Cluj after both teams finished on 57 points in the Romanian Liga I.
Ulisses of Armenia will also be playing in the Europa League after finishing second behind Pyunik in the league though it is not clear if Lubambo Musonda will be back with the team next season.

We have many professional players. a lot of them are inn Zambia, some are in DRC, some in SA, a few in China and a few in Europe. What we do not have is a lot of players in the famous leagues.

There is no way the saints are paying him 30,000 a week. thats what they pay the bulk of their senior players who perform week in wnd week out. Don’t be fooled by the salary information in the premier league, only a hand full of players earn above the 30,000 mark.

Roger Kola played in the europa league even this season and thats the player we have decided to ignore and call boys who failed to win a single match at afcon and who were totally blunt against an inexperienced achimwene side.
