Zambian left-back Mathews Banda is on the verge of completing a move to Europe, the ZamFoot Crew can exclusively reveal.
The Kafue Celtic defender has cut short his loan spell at Nkana FC as he prepares to seal a transfer to a top club in Eastern Europe, in what would represent a significant step forward in his young career.
At just 20 years old, Banda is set to become the third player from Kafue Celtic to secure a European move in the current transfer window, highlighting the club’s growing reputation as a pathway for emerging talent.
Banda’s rise has been accelerated by his performances on the international stage. The highly rated left-back featured for Zambia at the 2025 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco, starting all three group-stage matches and registering an assist for Patson Daka in the 1-1 draw against Mali.
His anticipated switch follows the recent European moves of fellow Kafue Celtic products Jonathan Kalimina, who joined a club in Austria, and Samuel Ngulube, who signed for a side in Finland.
