The 2022/2023 FAZ Women’s Super Division title will be decided on the final day with only a point separating log leaders Red Arrows and defending Champions, Green Buffaloes Women’s Football club.
As the title goes to the wire another race will be decided on the final day, the race for the Golden boot.
Elite Ladies striker Xiomara Mapepa leads the top goalscorers chart with 28 goals and in second place is Ochumba Oseke Lubanji of Red Arrows who is just two goals behind.
There is a third player in the race, Green Buffaloes Women’s Football club striker Maylan Mulenga whose chances are very slim as she sits on 22 goals.
Mapepa will be looking to break the 30 goal ceiling when they face Nkwazi Queens over the weekend.
The Copper Queens winger won the accolade last season with 17 goals and she is looking to defend her crown.
Mapepa is the favourite to carry the crown but she will need to be wary of Ochumba, the lanky forward could easily eclipse her with a hat-trick over the weekend.
Ochumba Oseke Lubanji has had a very good run this season and will look to get her first golden boot in the Women’s Super Division.
Ochumba will also have another eye on helping Arrows clinch the league title when they visit Bauleni to face relegated BUSA Queens.
Maylan Mulenga on the other hand has the most interesting story of the three having played almost half of the season as left back before returning to her natural position as a centre forward.
She has been on song since the departure of Hellen Chanda and Ireen Lungu to see herself reach 22 goals with a number of match balls collected along the way.
